I'm walking 30 miles in September

I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

I am doing this in memory of my late mum in law Hilda, brother in law Cyril and my mum Joyce who is currently living with Vascular dementia.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Remember me poem

Friday 3rd Oct
Remember Me

Remember me, my darling one—
Before the fog began to fall.
Before silence settled in my bones,
And time began to steal it all.

Remember laughter—
How it danced upon the breeze,
How I could catch your every call
Like sunlight threading through the trees.

I was your shelter in the storm,
Your lullaby when sleep ran shy.
The arms that held you close and warm,
The voice that soothed your every cry.

I whispered love in quiet tones,
Lifted burdens you could not bear.
Kissed away the ache and moans,
And made the world feel soft and fair.

But now—
Time is a thief in the night.
It steals the words I used to know,
Fades the faces, dims the light,
Leaves me drifting in the undertow.

Yet inside this heart—
This stubborn, beating heart—
I still hold you.
Still cradle you in memory’s glow.
Still love you more than words can show.

So when the fog grows thick and deep,
When I forget the names, the days,
Remember me—not as I am,
But as I was, in brighter ways.

Forever yours.
Even when the mirror lies.
Even when the story slips.
Even when the silence sighs.

Remember me.

Remember Me

Remember me, my darling one,

Before the fog began to fall—

When laughter danced upon the breeze,

And I could answer every call.

I was your shelter in the storm,

Your lullaby when sleep ran shy,

The arms that held you close and warm,

The voice that soothed your every cry.

I whispered love in quiet tones,

Brushed tangled dreams from weary hair,

Kissed away the ache and moans,

And made the world feel soft and fair.

Though time may steal the words I knew,

And memories may fade or flee,

Inside my heart, I still hold you—

Forever yours, remember me.
