Walk 50 Miles in January 2026

I'm walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK

This January, I'm walking 50 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

My Updates

Let’s see how many miles I’ve done by the end of the month!

Wednesday 14th Jan
I’ve done it! But I won’t stop there, this hasn’t really been a “challenge” it’s made me realise alot of things. Shocked and impressed by the amount of miles I walk a month, only the 12th of January and I’ve walked over 50 miles with only two “committed” walks, the rest just my day to day. Fortunate to walk in and live in such a beautiful county, grateful for the lifestyle we’ve adopted as a family, spending most of our time outdoors. And finally reflective of the cause, the community of relatives, carers and volunteers who live and breath dementia need continuous, proper and solid support, and if my small fundraiser can help that then il do this challenge ten fold. ♥️

Let’s go!

Make My Steps Count

Sunday 28th Dec
I am walking 50 miles in January to raise money for dementia UK. I walk many miles a day unnoticed in the school run, the walk to the gym, running errands in town, evening jogs. So if I can monetise them, even better!
Unfortunately I’ve had many loved ones, who have been consumed by Dementia. But this fundraising effort is for a particularly special one, my mother in law Patsy.
A remarkable woman, who could speak many languages, studied at Cambridge, played the piano and more importantly was a kind, soft, compassionate and loving person. At 57, her life, ultimately along with her sons, lives changed completely. Early onset dementia or PICs disease moved into their lives and never left. Thankfully Patrick and Tom made sure the remainder of their mother’s life was safe, comfortable, dignified and full of love just like Patsy deserved.
Dementia is the highest killer in the UK, and is also the most soul destroying. Please sponsor me to get off the sofa have a stank and put money towards essential research in finding a cure for dementia
