I'm walking 62K with my dog for Dementia UK
I am taking part in the walk 62km in March for dementia UK.The event is a dog walking event but with one of my dogs being old & the other not sociable in the slightest, I will be doing the walk alone.
As many of yous know 5 years ago my families life changed in the blink of an eye.
My mum was diagnosed with alzheimets a few weeks short of her 60th birthday.
For the last 5 years we've took the good with the bad & ultimately tried our hardest to try and navigate our way through the challenges. With that being said, my self and my sister attended groups, classes and even a university course 🎓 just to try understand the disease that wee bit better. Cause although I worked in a home with dementia residents for 11.5 years, it was much much different trying to deal with it head on.
I had been thinking of doing something to try and raise vital funds for the illness & when this came up I thought, why not.
