Run 100K in February '26

I'm running 100K for Dementia UK

This February, I'm running 100K and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

My Updates

Last 6km done - 100km 👍🏾

Saturday 28th Feb
Today’s challenge was running the last 6km with Poppy. 36kg of part Anatolian shepherd adds a bit of resistance! Great to get the run completed. If you haven’t done so, please feel free to donate!

27 Feb - one 6km run left

Friday 27th Feb
It’s been epic, I’ve not broken any land speed records, but looking forward to seeing this challenge to the finish line!

2 more runs to go!

Friday 27th Feb
Nearly there and it has been a long slog. I've managed to squeeze in some jogs in and around daily activity and the finish line is in sight. Thanks to all who have supported - just 12km to go!

Evening potter - another few km

Friday 20th Feb
8 days to run, 48km to go….. 6 days at 8km, 8 days at 6km…..a couple of 10km runs. Choices, choices!

Back from Venice - another 8km in the bag

Wednesday 18th Feb
Had to push myself today after a couple of days of eating and drinking in Venice. Up at 41km with 10 days to go. Couple of long runs this week to catch up and get back in the groove. Walked over 30km on our trip, much that I’d love to count them, this is a forcing function to get me out running!

5km trot around London

Thursday 12th Feb
Took the opportunity to go for an early morning whistle stop trot around London. From Buckingham Palace to Waterloo Bridge, 5km covered in a still, damp morning.

10 Feb - 5km

Tuesday 10th Feb
Another 5km in the bag. Slightly cooler and much wetter today! Getting there with 28km in the bag!

9 Feb - 23km done overall, 77km to do in 19 days

Monday 9th Feb
Made it to 9 Feb and have sporadically managed a mix of short trots and slightly longer plods. With 77km to do in 19days that’s an average of 4km a day. To get across the finish line I’m going to have to get regular 5km runs in to get some weekend days off. It’s nice when it is dry but less fun when it’s wet!

Day 4 - 6km

Wednesday 4th Feb
Skipped my runs on Monday and Tuesday so I had to get on top of this! 6km done at a steady 7.5km/hr. No land speed records broken here but that’s 10km down, 90km to go….in 24 days. Looks like I’ll need to get in 4km a day…..

First run

Sunday 1st Feb
Glad to have Lisa with me on day 1

Day 1 - 4.2km, 34 mins

Sunday 1st Feb
First run done ☑️ Looking at this weeks forecast it’s going to be a challenge maintaining the momentum! Glad to have got through and great to have Lisa running alongside me at the start.

Please note that when we talk about distances I’m planning on running 100km. Unfortunately the settings don’t let me change from miles to km , so you’ll see the distances run as my blog post title.
