Walk 50 Miles in January 2026

Miles for Minds - I'm walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK

This January, I'm walking 50 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

I was inspired to do this by a friend who has been affected by this terrible condition, besides having seen family members struggle in the past. We have a long way to go to beat this but this is just a little “step” in the right direction, money raised will go to this amazing charity which supports and gives invaluable advice to those suffering and their families.  I know January is a tough month where we all tighten our belts but if you feel you would like to contribute just the smallest amount it all adds up and will make a difference.

Thank you!

Cath

Calcot circular walk

Tuesday 20th Jan
Tuesday, 20th January I walked with my sister and nephew from her home on a circular walk which took in parts of the towpath of the Kennet and Avon canal, very enjoyable and we clocked up 5.1 miles to be precise! 😂😂

Windsor Great Park

Tuesday 20th Jan
Monday, 9th January, I enjoyed a solitary walk through the magnificent Windsor Great Park, taking in some new paths  (for me) and completed 7.5 miles, so I was very happy with this and no stops.

My friend and I enjoyed a fun day out in Manchester partaking in this fun treasure  hunt of sorts and racked up at least five miles, which made this walk very interesting indeed.

Miles for Minds

Sunday 4th Jan
Day 1
New Years Day started with a lovely walk through the woods at Cliveden with two friends and their dogs. 4 miles
Day 2
I walked with my son, Robert around Savill Gardens but just a short one today.  2 miles
Day 3
Started at Aldbury (near Tring)  on a beautiful, crisp, winters walk taking in fabulous views of the Vale of Aylesbury from the top, a biting wind kept the admiration of the view brief and we continued to our reward at The Trooper for lunch in the warm! 5 miles
