Walk 31 Miles in May 2026

Join the Facebook group for Walk 31 miles in May challenge.

I'm walking 31 Miles in May for Dementia UK

This May, I'm walking 31 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Friday 29th May
I missed one day completely, the day just disappeared and I’ve been able to reduce my daily walks thankfully as  im having an rsi flare up. Still doing the thing though!

Another hot one but waited for the worst of the heat to be over before getting out there.

Day 22

Friday 22nd May

Two walks today, one for work one for pleasure

Day 19

Tuesday 19th May
Walking before and after work today to get the correct distance for the day.

Thought I needed to tick off 1.9 miles tonight…sadly that one had been done already it was 1.4 that was today’s target…oh well better to much than too little!

Day 13

Wednesday 13th May
Two walks today, one with Edward that was a bit damp  for the most past. Then a solo one in the sunshine of the evening

Day 12

Tuesday 12th May
Two walks today. One as a family to the Cotswold wildlife park and gardens and then a solo one around the park we are staying at for the weeks. Both really lovely and total chill out time!

Day 11

Monday 11th May
And Day 1 of my holiday. Just a little walk near our lodge but hope to get out further along that route it was so beautiful!

Day 10

Sunday 10th May
Always good to walk after a visit!

Day 9

Saturday 9th May
Managed to get my biggest walk done of the challenge I’ve set myself for this month, very happy to have managed the 4 miles so early on.

Day 8

Friday 8th May
A longer walk than I originally planned tonight but once I got out I just kept going! Unexpected end with the train gates stuck down so took a while for it to be sorted so I could get home!

Day 7

Thursday 7th May
I  didn’t get to walk after work today as had to get some paperwork sorted and posted for Dads financial assessment to be finalised. Did a nice few miles solo tonight though so a good first week is complete!

Day 6

Wednesday 6th May
Two walks again today one on my own after work and one with Kirsty too

Day 4 and 5

Tuesday 5th May
Have done two walks today and yesterday, getting the miles in whilst I can as you never know when life will get in the way and scupper my plans!!

Day 3

Sunday 3rd May
A solo walk today and bit further than days 1 and 2. A good podcast and some fresh air a nice way to end a Sunday.

Day 2

Sunday 3rd May
A bit wet to start but it didn’t last long. Charlie came too and we found some snails crossing our path along the way desperately trying to avoid crushing them

Day 1

Friday 1st May
Day 1 done with Kirsty. 1.11miles completed in the warm evening sun.

Tomorrow I start.

Thursday 30th Apr
I have decided to extend the challenge by adding 0.1 of a mile every day so May 1st is 1 mile May 2nd is 1.1 miles and so on. Depending on time, weather and how I’m feeling I may not do them in order but I will try my best to do that May 31st will see a 4 mile walk to end the challenge!!
