I'm walking 30 miles in September

I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

My walk for Dementia UK

I am walking for Dementia UK this September. My mum had Alzheimer's and passed away July 2025.

This is alzheimers. 
This is my mum. 
This is an unlockable mind. 
This is when meaningful communication is no longer possible. 
This is the loss a family feels when the person you mourn is still here. 
This is years of love and care and learning, lost. 
This is knowledge gained and grown and used, no more. 
This is memories of our childhoods and our children, disappeared.
This is a brain and a body destroyed from within. 
This is a slow living death. 
This is alzheimers. 
This is my mum.
She is love. 
She is my memories. 
She made me, she nurtured me, she loved me.
She has always been my most enthusiastic cheerleader.
She is in me, and in my children. 
She will always be my mum.
I will always see her in the mirror and in my girls. 
She will never, ever be forgotten.
This, this is alzheimers 💔
