I'm walking 62 Miles in October for Dementia UK
This October, I'm walking 62 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
Thank you!

Why I’m Walking for Dementia .
Sunday 20th SepWhy I’m Walking for Dementia
Dementia is something that affects so many families, often changing lives in ways that are difficult to put into words.
I’m taking on this challenge to raise money and awareness for all the families living with dementia, but there is also a very personal reason behind why this cause means so much to me.
My best friend’s dad is living with dementia, and over time I’ve seen the impact it has had—not only on him, but on my best friend and the whole family. Watching someone you love navigate something like this can be incredibly difficult, and it has given me a much greater understanding of how much dementia can affect everyone around the person living with it.
It is also something my niece is experiencing with her granddad. Seeing it through her eyes has reminded me that dementia doesn’t just affect the person who receives the diagnosis. It can affect children, grandchildren, sons, daughters, partners, friends and entire families.
That’s why I’m walking.
I want every step of my challenge to represent the people living with dementia, and the families and friends who are beside them every step of the way.
I know that one walk won’t change everything, but if it can raise some money, create a little more awareness and help support people affected by dementia, then every step will be worth it.
This challenge is going to be tough, but whenever I find it difficult, I’ll remind myself of why I started.
For the dads, mums, grandparents, partners and friends living with dementia.
For the families learning to cope with the changes.
For the people who quietly carry the emotional weight of caring for someone they love.
And for everyone who has been affected by dementia in some way.
This walk is for you. ❤️
If you’re able to support my fundraiser, whether by donating, sharing my story or simply following my journey, I would be incredibly grateful.
Every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference.
One step at a time. One family at a time. Together, we can help make a difference.
