I'm walking 62 Miles in October

I’m walking 62 Miles in October and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.

An £10 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Walking in the lakes

Sunday 26th Oct
So I am on the last few miles and the sights of the Lakes and seeing family is  enough to spur me on.

Good luck to everyone else who is doing this challenge to support those with dementia.

Trip to the park

Sunday 12th Oct
Visted the local park today that Dad used to love going to. He used to take me there when I was little and sit on the swings with me and he  used to take his grand daughter there and use the exercise machines.
He would happily go for a wander around this beautiful park abd over the tops too.
And it was another lovely sunny day.

Trip to London

Sunday 12th Oct
My dad did not visit London much and if he did it was with work - quick in and out!
But if he had had the time to explore I am sure he would have loved looking at the buildings and getting lost in The British Museum.

British museum

Sunday 12th Oct
A walk around London in the sunshine. My dad loved history, he had some many huge hardback books about anything really and loved to tell you all about it.

Motivated to get up and out.

Wednesday 8th Oct
Thank you for the donations so far, you gave me the push I needed to take me and my thoughts for a walk.

I know my dad never saw  the sunsets here but  once a farmer’s son he would have seen a lot of sunsets and sunrises  and like me he too  would have stopped and talked to passers-by about how stunning they are.

Walking in my dad’s footsteps

Tuesday 7th Oct
Revisited some of my dad’s favourite places. Walked over hill and dale in the sunshine too. I had forgotten how steep these hills are but it was worth every step.

Walking For Dad

Saturday 4th Oct
Recently, my dad died from dementia and one of the things he loved more than anything was walking.
So in memory of my amazing dad I have decided to do this challenge.
