Run 100K in February '26

I'm running 100K for Dementia UK

This February, I'm running 100K and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

100km in February Challenge – COMPLETE! 🏃‍♀️

I forgot to post my penultimate run yesterday – a slow but steady 3.95km jog around the estate while the weather was kind. I managed to beat the downpour and get it done just before the rain came in ahead of the school run.

And today’s run… 3.66km squeezed in just in the nick of time, in the final hours of the day after a jam-packed family day! That brought my total to 100.29km!

Battling an injury and some health concerns along the way, there were definitely moments when I thought I might not manage it. But I was determined to complete this challenge for a cause close to my heart, getting my distance in whenever and wherever I could.

I may not have broken any records for the fastest or longest runs, but for me this has been an incredible achievement — something I once would have thought impossible.

I truly couldn’t have done this without you all.

Thank you to every single person who has donated, shared, messaged, and encouraged me along the way. It really does mean so much. ❤️

Final stretch – less than 10k to go!

Thursday 26th Feb

9.39km smashed today towards my 100km target, bringing my total distance covered to 92.68km 🎉

With just 2 days to go, the remaining distance is well within reach and I’m feeling positive about finishing strong.

I’m meeting a friend down this way today, so I thought I’d return to where it all began almost a month ago — the run that ended with a bone in my foot being displaced 🙈

Today was a speedy walk from Rest Bay across to Newton, up and around near the duck pond (ran out of time before I could loop it!), then back via Fulmar Road and down to Rest Bay. I covered more distance than yesterday in a slightly shorter time, so I’m really pleased with that progress. Not to mention I just missed the rain!!

A huge thank you to everyone for the ongoing support throughout this journey — it’s meant so much.

I’m just a small amount off hitting my fundraising target now, so if anyone would still like to sponsor me and help me get over the line, it would be massively appreciated 💙

83.29km down… the 100km finish line is in sight 🏁

Thursday 26th Feb
Snuck in a pre-rugby walk with the birthday girl and then kept going while she trained. Not exactly dressed for a run (very much a “wrong kit, right mindset” situation), so it turned into a lap-after-lap power walk instead. Lost count somewhere along the way, but the distance still got banked. 🏃‍♀️

7.89km added this evening and we’re now firmly into the final stretch — both in kilometres and fundraising.

This challenge has been for such a meaningful cause, and every bit of support has genuinely kept me putting one foot in front of the other on especially when the sofa looked far more appealing after a night shift. If anyone can spare even £1 to help push this over the line, it would be hugely appreciated and make a real difference.

Let’s bring this home. 💛

Another double bubble today! 💪

Tuesday 24th Feb
Straight from work this morning, I swapped footwear and headed out for a quick 2.18km round the block.

Then, making the most of the first bit of sunshine we’ve seen in what feels like forever, I took the dog up to Freedom Fields for a jog. Lots of detours into the middle to retrieve the ball she kept begging me to throw… and then refused to bring back 🙈 but this knocked off another 6.72km!

That brings my total to 75.4km out of 100km.
We’re now over ¾ of the way there with just 4 days to go… can I do it in time???

…of course I can!!!

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me along the way — your encouragement, messages and donations mean everything. I’m so close to both my mileage goal and my fundraising target.

If everyone on my friends list donated just £1, I’d smash my target. Donations can be anonymous too — every little really does help and goes towards an amazing cause that’s close to so many of our hearts.

Let’s finish strong 💛

Another run bites the dust 💪

Monday 23rd Feb

Two jogs in today (with a few walk breaks to manage a bit of niggle):

• First straight after a night shift – 3.31 km

• Second right before heading back in – 4.59 km

Total 66.5km/100km

One last week to go before the end of the month and I’m determined to finish strong. Half term made it a challenge to squeeze everything in, but I’m back at it now — juggling renovations, night shifts and whatever sleep I can grab in between. You watch me… I’m getting this done!

I’m so close to smashing my £250 fundraising target. Thank you so much to everyone who has already sponsored me, cheered me on and kept me going — it really does mean a lot.

Let’s see if we can push this over the line for a cause that’s close to so many of our hearts ❤️

We’re half way there!!

Friday 20th Feb

Yesterday I combined two walks/jogs — one with family while we made the most of the brief good weather, and another quick loop before starting work.

Yesterday’s total: 5.1 km

Overall total: 58.6 km / 100 km

I’m now over halfway to my goal! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported and sponsored me so far. I’m really close to my fundraising target, and that wouldn’t have been possible without your encouragement and continued support.

I still have a little way to go, so please keep sharing or donating anything you can to help me smash this final stretch — every bit truly helps.

Thank you all 💙

Quick little update from me 💙

Wednesday 18th Feb

I’ve been active but a bit quiet on here lately. Working nights, feeling a bit run down, and half term chaos has definitely knocked me for six. Even so, I’ve still managed to chip away at the miles!

Monday:

🏃‍♀️ 4km jog on the treadmill

🚴‍♀️ 2.6km on the stationary bike

Yesterday:

🚶‍♀️ Fast-paced walk – 5.4km

That brings my total to 53.5/100km — we are officially over halfway there! 🙌

I’m taking today as a rest day to recharge and spend some quality time with my tribe, then it’s back at it. The finish line is closer than ever, and I’m so grateful for all the support so far.

We’re smashing the distance, but there’s still a little way to go on the fundraising side. If you’re able to donate or even just share this post, it would mean so much and help give me that extra push to the finish 💪

Thank you for cheering me on every step of the way ❤️

Feeling positive 💪

Thursday 12th Feb

Today: 6.5k done

Total so far: 41.5k / 100k

Breakdown:

🏃‍♂️ 4k treadmill

🚴‍♂️ 2.5k bike

Feeling less restriction in my foot, which is great news and a big confidence boost. The plan going forward is to keep building: aiming to smash 6.5k each weekday next week, gradually increasing the jogging distance each day. Then for the final week, I’m hoping to get back out on the road and hit 5k a day if all goes to plan.

Thank you all so much for the continued support and encouragement — it genuinely means a lot. Taking on this challenge while sleep-deprived on night shifts, I definitely had moments where I convinced myself I couldn’t do it… but here we are, almost a month in, overcoming injury and still pushing forward. I’m determined to get this done — not just for my own mental and physical health, but to raise money for Dementia UK, such a worthy cause.

If you haven’t already and would like to support me on this journey, please share my posts with friends and family and donate anything you can. Every penny truly makes a difference.

Let’s do this!! 💪💪💪

Huge progress 🙌

Wednesday 11th Feb
Fundraising Progress Update 💙

7.5k  completed today — 5k on the treadmill and 2.5k  on the exercise bike — bringing my total to 35k / 100k for February!

Slowly bringing this on jogging KM up and the cycling numbers down 🙌

It’s clear that the rest and determination are paying off, and I’m feeling motivated to keep pushing towards the 100k goal.

If you’d like to support my journey to raise funds for Dementia UK this February and haven’t done so already, you can help by sharing this post with friends and family to spread awareness, or by sponsoring me.  Any amount, big or small, really does add up and would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you so much for your continued support!

2nd update of the day… check me out!

Tuesday 10th Feb

I’m currently 25k down - a quarter of the way there!

Not satisfied with this morning progress, this afternoon I managed a small 1.2k jog back out on the road just to gently test it. Not fast by any means, but I just wanted to get a feel for how my foot would cope on uneven terrain. That little run has pushed me over the 25k mark and given me a slow but positive feel for getting back out there.

The aim is to build back up carefully and run as much of the remaining distance as I safely can, but no matter what, I WILL the full 100k done this month.

Every share and every pound makes a difference and will keep me moving (even if a bit slower than planned!)

Thank you for the support — let’s get this 100k finished 💪

Getting there, slow and steady!

Tuesday 10th Feb
Not the most successful gym session today. I think jumping round on my foot in rugby training last night may have been a little ambitious!🙈 only 3.7k done today, but that’s 3.7k off another day still take that!

Brings my total to 23.8k almost 1/4 of the way there 🙌

Back at it tomorrow!

Missing an update!!

Monday 9th Feb
So my last update for last week (which I’m sure I posted) is no where to be seen so here’s a double update for you.

4th Feb -
Back at it today…. With a new pair of treads to hopefully ease the discomfort in my foot 🤞

Ticked off 7.5k today 🙌
12.5k/100k completed ✔️
Slowly getting there catching up on a few Km today for yesterdays absence of activity due to last minute call in to work.
3.5k treadmill (1k power walk/ 2.5k jog)
4k cycle
Not the fastest by any means but doing as much as my foot will allow whilst healing 🙈

Today -
7.6k 🙌
Total  20.1k/100k

Bright and early straight off a night shift and to the gym!!

I allowed my foot to rest with pain returning with a bit of a vengeance Thursday/Friday but rest has done some good, Foots feeling some improvement even after today’s workout so fingers crossed for a full 5 k run end of this week 🤞

4.1k on the treadmill
3.5k on the bike

Off The Starting Line

Monday 2nd Feb
5/100k done.

Currently nursing a foot injury, A&E advised rest, but this 100k won’t do it self, not to mention February being the shortest month of the year to complete this distance in 🙈

So for now I’m running for as long as my foot will allow and completing my daily Km target by cycling, rowing, swimming or walking the remainder as advised by the charity organisers.

Today:
2k on running machine.
1.5k each on the rowing machine and the air-master.

If you haven’t already, please share/sponsor me to help me reach my target for this worthy cause.

Warming Up!

Tuesday 27th Jan
Finally got my gear on… (all the gear no idea 🙈) and dragged myself out for a warm up run to get myself in to the swing of things this morning. Took myself down to Rest Bay, Porthcawl. Even though it decided to chuck it down for 32 out of the 35m the run took me, the choppy sea view made it that much more manageable.

Please follow me along on my journey, which officially starts on Sundays 1st Feb. See my progress not only in distance, but hopefully smashing my own records along the way.

Thanks you all in advance of your support.
