Why I am taking part

February can be one of the toughest months of the year. The dark mornings, cold days and post-January slump can really take their toll, and this year I wanted to channel that into something positive.

So throughout February I’m running 100km 💙
Not just as a personal challenge to improve my own wellbeing, but to support Dementia UK.

I recently worked with a hospice and heard first-hand about patients living with dementia, and just how devastating this illness is — not only for the person diagnosed, but for their families, friends and carers. The emotional, physical and mental strain they face every single day is heartbreaking, and for many families these months are even tougher.

Running has always been something I love and rely on for my mental health, so it felt right to use it as a way to help others. By supporting Dementia UK, I hope to play a small part in helping families facing incredibly difficult circumstances.
