Walk 31 Miles in May 2026

I'm walking 31 Miles in May for Dementia UK

This May, I'm walking 31 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Walking for Dementia: Why This Journey Matters to Me

Tuesday 7th Apr

Over the past few years, and with my working background

I’ve come to realise just how important it is to stand up, show support, and be there for others, especially during their most difficult times.

That’s one of the reasons I’m taking part in a 31-mile walk this May to raise awareness for dementia.

This won’t be my first challenge. Back in November, I took part in the Mind walk, which was an incredible experience. It pushed me both physically and mentally, but more importantly, it showed me the power of coming together for a cause that truly matters.

That experience inspired me to keep going to do more, to help more, and to continue raising awareness where it’s needed most.

This time, my focus is dementia.

Dementia is something that affects not just the person living with it, but everyone around them their family, their friends, and their support networks. It can be incredibly challenging, emotional, and at times overwhelming. I’ve seen how it impacts people’s lives, how it changes relationships, and how important it is for those affected to feel supported, understood, and not alone.

That’s why I’m taking on this 31-mile walk.

I also want to share that this year, alongside this challenge, I’ll be doing something completely out of my comfort zone jumping out of a plane.

This is for my best friend, who has been diagnosed & who is simply incredible I am so proud of her strength and I admire how she’s tackling this in such a positive way it blows my mind every day after the diagnosis that she’d got mesothelioma, an incurable cancer.

It’s been an rollercoaster of emotions for her and everyone involved.

So myself Along with others, we’ll  be taking on this skydive to help raise awareness and show support for her, just as she faces her own incredibly difficult journey with strength and courage. I love her so much & so proud of her too.

Experiences like these really bring home how important it is to support one another. Whether it’s dementia, cancer, or any life-changing condition, no one should ever feel like they’re facing it alone.

Through these challenges, I hope to:

  • Raise awareness and its impact
  • Encourage open conversations so people feel less isolated
  • Show support for families and friends who are often the unsung heroes
  • Stand alongside those facing serious illness and remind them they are not alone
  • Help contribute, in whatever way I can, to better support systems for those affected

This walk is only 31 miles but it’s nothing compared to the challenges faced by those living with dementia & other life Changing diagnosis's from the Person directly impacted and their loved ones every single day.

If sharing this journey helps even one person feel less alone, or encourages someone to reach out for support, then every step and every leap will be worth it.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far and continues to do so.

Together, we can make a difference by raising awareness, showing kindness, and standing alongside those who need it most.

Many Thanks
