I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK

This September, I'm walking 30 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Hi everyone, I’m Barbara.

Monday 3rd Aug
This September, my children and I will be taking part in the Dementia 30 miles Walk to support those affected by this devastating disease.

We’re doing this for my dad, and my children’s grandad, who is just 63 years old and living with vascular dementia. He now lives in a care home, and watching someone you love go through this is incredibly difficult.

Taking on this walk is completely outside of my comfort zone because I’m definitely not a natural walker, but this cause means so much to us. The kids wanted to get involved too, to walk for their grandad and show him just how much he means to us.

We’re hoping to raise awareness of dementia and raise funds to help support vital research and families who are facing this heartbreaking journey.
