I'm making Time for a Cuppa
By the time you've made your brew, another person will have developed dementia. I'm going to bake, brew and raise vital funds for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £21 could pay for the telephone costs of four families calling our free Helpline whenever they need support. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support. I am really grateful for any support you can give.
Thank you!

Why I’m Fundraising for Dementia – And Why It Matters More Than Ever
Monday 27th AprDementia is something many of us have heard of, but until it touches your life in some way, it can be hard to truly understand the impact it has—not just on individuals, but on families, friendships, and entire communities.
I’m doing this fundraising because dementia isn’t just a condition that affects memory. It slowly changes the way a person experiences the world. Everyday moments—recognising a loved one, holding a conversation, feeling independent—can become confusing or even frightening. And for the people who care for them, it can be heartbreaking to watch those changes unfold.
This fundraiser is about more than just raising money. It’s about raising awareness, compassion, and support.
Across the UK, thousands of families are navigating life with dementia right now. They’re balancing care, emotions, and often exhaustion, while trying to hold onto the person they love. Research is ongoing, but there is still so much more to learn, and support services are stretched.
That’s why every donation—no matter how big or small—can make a real difference. It can help fund:
- Vital research into prevention, treatment, and one day, a cure
- Support services for families and carers
- Community programs that reduce isolation and improve quality of life
But even if you’re not in a position to donate, simply sharing this page helps. The more people who understand dementia, the more compassionate and supportive our communities can become.
For me, this cause is deeply personal. It’s about standing up for those who may not always be able to speak for themselves. It’s about preserving dignity, creating better futures, and reminding people affected by dementia that they are not alone.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, for your support, and for helping make a difference.
Together, we can bring hope where it’s needed most.
