I'm walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK
This January, I'm walking 50 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

My Why
Monday 22nd DecThis January, I’m taking on a personal challenge to support a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart: dementia.
For years, I've worked in the care sector, seeing firsthand the impact of dementia on individuals and their families. On a personal level, my grandmother was diagnosed with vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s, and she passed away five years ago, in January. Dementia is a disease that takes away independence, personality, and memories. It affects not just the person living with it, but everyone who loves them.
A family member of one of the elderly people I used to care for once said to me, "I lost my mum three years ago when she was diagnosed with dementia, not today on her death." This hit me hard. Dementia robs us of our loved ones long before they’re gone, leaving a painful void that can never be filled.
Through this challenge, I want to raise awareness and funds for a charity that supports those affected by dementia, helping provide the care and support families desperately need. If you’re able, I’d appreciate any contribution, big or small. Every donation makes a difference in improving the lives of those impacted by this disease.
