I'm running 100K for Dementia UK
In February, I’m going to be running 100k to raise money for Dementia UK.
I lost my Nan to dementia during lockdown, and like a lot of people at that time, I didn’t get the chance to say goodbye properly. This run is my way of honouring her memory and doing something positive in her name.
As most of you know, my body is pretty cooked at the moment — ongoing back and knee injuries mean this won’t be a straightforward 10k. I’ll be building up slowly and tackling it in small doses, doing what I can without breaking myself in the process.
The hope is that as I continue to lose body fat and get fitter, the running will become easier on my joints. Either way, I’ll get it done.
If you’re able to donate or share, I’d really appreciate it. And if not, that’s okay too — just getting this out there means a lot.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for helping me remember my Nan.
