I'm taking on Fans vs Dementia
During the course of 90 minutes, 30 people in the UK will develop dementia.
I’m taking on Fans vs Dementia and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.
The charity walk will start at St James’ Park, Newcastle United and finish at The Stadium of Light, Sunderland AFC. On the route I will visit Gateshead International Stadium, Gateshead FC, The Trustmark Group Stadium, Hebburn Town FC and The First Cloud Arena, South Shields FC in memory of my Gran, who loved North East football, attending Sunderland games as a child and young adult, taking her little brother and always checking the scores on a Saturday afternoon!
My wonderful Gran lived with Dementia in the final years of her life, it changed her beyond belief and through this experience I know how the help and support of Dementia UK can benefit people and their families.
£19 could pay for the telephone costs of five families calling our free Helpline whenever they need support. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.
