I'm walking 62 Miles in October
Throughout October I am walking 62 miles. That's almost the distance around the Isle of Wight, and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I don't normally do sponsored events but have seen first hand the impact of dementia on individuals and families so when this poppded up on my Facebook page it seem to touch home. I would be grateful for your support.
An £10 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Friday 31st Oct With one day left, I have completed the 62 mile October Challenge. The month started well, but with poor weather and jobs around home the miles just didnt add up as quickly towards the end. Share
Catching up.
Tuesday 14th Oct So no walk as such at the weekend. But manages around 12,000 steps each day just working in the garden and B&Q and around garden centers.
10 days down.
Friday 10th Oct 10 days in and over half the miles done. I have been walking before work for a few months now, and I am still finding new areas around the town. Topped up the miles today walking along the front at East Cowes. Share
Back on track
Thursday 9th Oct Work got in the way yesterday. Not that I didn't walk anywhere, I just didn't record it. Up out early this morning and a lovely walk around the park. Share
Update
Tuesday 7th Oct So after not updating for a few days and not getting out on Friday due to Storm Amy. I had a busy weekend and back to walking before work. I have added another 11.5 miles to my total. Share

Thursday 2nd Oct Two more walks today before work and at lunchtime. Not so far today as I had things to fit in at lunch aswell as get my miles in. Share
