I'm walking 62 Miles in October

I’m walking 62 Miles in October and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.

An £10 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Making the most from loss.

Thursday 2nd Oct
You ever look back, memories start flooding, and before you know it you’re overwhelmed with regret? If so, it’s not too late. I’ve been there, I am there, thinking of all the times I could’ve spent with my grandmother. Every family has its dysfunction, every family has a quirk, an annoyance, or just that one person you can’t stand! Time goes by you decide to distance yourself. You believe protecting your peace is an absolute priority, and I’m not here to say it isn’t but rather to somewhat counteract that ideology. Life is tough, it’s hard and we all have our issues but really when it comes down to it we’re more alike than we realize. We can still laugh, have fun, and enjoy each other’s presence even though you just got into a strong argument with that certain loved one. Maybe not everyone can find it within themselves to forgive, maybe the hurt is far too deep. So for those who are willing and open, it’s not too late to make amends. To go to that person you love and reconcile because you don’t want to be there sitting with your own thoughts on how time spent meant so much more than you realized. Relationships take two people willing to grow together through the dirty and the ugly, through the turmoil and through the pain. As long as at the end of the day you can sit back and think about how that person you loved was by your side regardless of their flaws. I am entirely grateful for my whole family for showing me in my life forgiveness and redemption. For being the ones that when you messed up, they’ll first and foremost call you out, but at the end of the day are still there. So wherever you may be in life, make the most from loss. Listen to that tug on your heart telling you to forgive and to make amends. I promise you, it makes life a thousand times more worth it, and brings relief to your soul. I love you mom… which is what we’d call our grandma. Such a beautiful lady, full of life, full of the island of Puerto Rico within her, by no means perfect like the rest of us but if I could go back I’d do it all over again just to be by her side and spend more time.
