This May, I'm walking 31 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Dementia is cruel, but we can make life a bit easier!

Until it affects your family direct, dementia doesn't seem that bad. A bit forgetful,  misplacing things, it could be worse! But dementia is a cruel and insipid. It steals the joy, the love and the very essence of the people we love.  Slowly. Ensuring the person feels every moment of forgetfulness, every missed appointment, every minute of fear when they've misplaced something. Fueling anger, frustration and a feeling of losing their minds. And as a family, you rally around them, helping, supporting, accessing services while this illness steals the person you love and the memories you've shared. 
You soothe their fears and wipe their tears, whilst behind closed doors you allow your own to fall. Dementia UK help families through the minefield of service access, diagnosis and medication support, resources to support independent living and giving our loved ones the dignity they deserve. They help us, let us help them 🪻
