Walk 30 Miles in September 2026

Join the Facebook group for Walk 30 miles in September challenge.

I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK

This September, I'm walking 30 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Crisps in a dish

Wednesday 12th Aug

A nice visit after we have both returned from our holidays

We had crisps in a dish in the garden so nothing says more than a nice get together than crisps in a dish

A resident came to join us who have beautiful nails

She said she has always had long nails and was a dancer

What’s your favourite type of dancing we asked

That Patrick Swayze type dancing 😳

Oh I didn’t expect that I said 😂

Mum said Dad would be annoyed he had missed out on a nice sig out 🥺

I am not Elizabeth Taylor!

Sunday 2nd Aug

I didn’t envisage ever explaining to Mum I’m not Elizabeth Taylor but this is dementia world

This all started when I took an Ok! Magazine with a wedding photo on the front

Mum loves a magazine and flicked through. I pointed out The Princess of Wales- she looked puzzled as this wasn’t Diana. Other ladies were sat with us - Diana is dead one of them said

What?!!! a few including Mum said

So I diverted conversation to other weddings

Mum: “Are you married?”

Me: “Yes I am Mum. I have got married twice”

Mum: “Twice ?!! To the same man?!!”

Me: “No, I am not Elizabeth Taylor!!” 😂

Wham! had a photo in the magazine - I played one of their songs and she knew it 🙌🏻

Lots of talk about Dad today although she can’t remember his name 🥲 and she said I looked nice in blue 💙
