I'm walking 62 Miles in October

This October, I’m taking on the challenge of walking 62 miles in support of Dementia UK.

Dementia is a condition that affects not just memory, but entire families, and I’ve seen first-hand the difference that compassionate support can make. During my time at university studying to be a Radiographer, I had the privilege of regularly visiting a patient living with dementia. Sadly, they later passed away, but those visits were incredibly meaningful to me. They helped me understand the challenges faced by people with dementia and their families, and they taught me so much about patience, empathy, and how to communicate with kindness.

Those lessons have stayed with me, and they continue to shape the way I care for patients with dementia in my role as a Radiographer today.

By walking these 62 miles, I want to honour that experience and support the incredible work that Dementia UK does. Their specialist dementia nurses provide life-changing advice and support for families who often feel overwhelmed and alone.

Every step I take will be in memory of those who are no longer with us, and in support of the families and individuals who continue to live with dementia every day.

If you’re able to, I’d be so grateful if you could sponsor me. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards helping Dementia UK continue their vital work.

Together, we can make a difference—one mile at a time.
