hours of free helpline support from a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse

I'm making Time for a Cuppa

By the time you've made your brew, another person will have developed dementia. I'm going to bake, brew and raise vital funds for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £21 could pay for the telephone costs of four families calling our free Helpline whenever they need support. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support. I am really grateful for any support you can give.

Thank you!

Every Memory Matters: Join Me in Fighting Dementia

If you’ve ever watched someone you love slowly lose the memories that make them who they are, you know how devastating dementia can be. It’s not just a condition—it’s a thief that steals moments, stories, and connections. And it’s far more common than we might think: in the UK alone, over 900,000 people live with dementia, and that number is rising.

That’s why I’m taking action—and I’m asking you to join me.  Alongside the fabulous Oldfield Forge team we are making time for tea. Do please come and join us supporting dementia research, care services, and support networks that make a real difference to those affected and their families. Every penny we raise will go directly to Dementia Uk who are working tirelessly to find treatments, improve care, and ultimately, find a cure.

How your donation helps

Every contribution, no matter how small, has an impact:

• £5 could pay for a memory book to help someone with dementia hold onto precious moments.

• £20 could fund an hour of specialist care and support for a person living with the condition.

• £50 could contribute to vital research into new treatments and early detection methods.

• £100 could provide a day of activities and companionship at a local dementia support centre.

How you can get involved

There are lots of ways to support us:

1. Donate: Every pound adds up.

2. Share: Tell your friends, family, and colleagues. Share this post on social media, or forward it to someone who might want to help. The more people who know, the more we can raise.

3. Take part: If you’re local, I’m organising a coffee morning, hosted by Oldfield Forge and their team on Wednesday 13th May at Oldfield Forge, Garway Hill. Hereford HR2 8HA

A final thought

We can’t turn back time for those who have already lost memories, but we can fight for a future where dementia is preventable, treatable, and eventually, curable. Together, we can make sure that fewer families have to say goodbye to their loved ones twice—once when they forget, and once when they pass.

Thank you for reading, for caring, and for giving. Every memory matters, and every donation brings us one step closer to a better future.

With gratitude,
Ally Godwin
