I'm walking 62 Miles in October for Dementia UK
This October, I'm walking 62 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
Thank you!

My Updates
In memory of my mum, Carole
Thursday 24th SepMum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2019. At first, she was able to carry on living her life much as she always had. But, gradually, the disease took away her ability to drive, her independence, her memories and, eventually, her quality of life.
Watching this happen to someone you love is heartbreaking. As her condition progressed, I had to watch my mum become less and less like the person she had always been. Sadly, Mum passed away in September 2026, by which time she no longer recognised me or other members of our family.
Alzheimer’s doesn’t just affect the person living with the disease — it affects the whole family. Organisations such as Dementia UK do amazing work supporting people with dementia and the families who care for them, providing advice, guidance and much-needed support through some of the most difficult times.
In memory of Mum, I’m hoping to raise £250 for Dementia UK to help other families facing the same heartbreaking journey.
If you’re able to make a donation, no matter how small, it would mean so much to me and would help support other families affected by dementia.
Thank you for reading, for your support, and for helping me remember Mum in this way. ❤️
