I'm walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK
This January, I'm walking 50 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
Thank you!

My Updates
Day 17
Saturday 17th Jan Over halfway there, smashed the donation target and Eddie is still happy about being my walking buddy. Thank you all for your donations... I wonder what my final mileage will actually be? Share
Day 2
Friday 2nd Jan Almost 8 miles walked today (11 total), freezing cold but brilliant sunshine and through some local fens: Lopham and Redgrave, Blo Nrton and Thelnetham. Followed a Ramblers Assoc. circular walking route tgat was very useful.. some tricky Footpaths across freshly harvested sugar beat fields but it was dry and/or frozen mud, thank goodness. I think the dig might need a rest tomorrow so maybe just a couple of miles. Share
Merry Christmas 2025
Saturday 20th Dec Christmas 2025 will be different to every other Christmas I've had before in my life - my Dad is not with us, he died in February 2025 with vascular dementia and alzheimers. So this Christmas, I've decided to not post cards to friends and family but to make a donation to the charity, Dementia UK and to donate some time, trying to complete the 50 Mile in January Challenge to kick off 2026. If you'd like to donate, please do but please don't feel you have to... I'm happy to meet you at a local pub/coffee shop after a walk if you'd like. ShareThank you to my Sponsors
