I'm walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK
As some of you may know my Mam has dementia. This diagnosis has changed our lives and stripped me of a Mam, my kids of a Grandma and society of the beautiful Ann. I don’t share my story online out of dignity for my mam and to be honest 99% of the time I prefer to ignore this is happening. Millions of people are living with dementia but everyone’s story is different. The obstacles that they face and heartache experienced is unique to every individual. I never realised that dementia could shatter lives as much as it has shattered mine and my heart breaks more and more every day.
However, not to dwell we continue to look to the positive. Mam is here , we are embracing the new and very different Mam and our love and resilience gets stronger every day. So I would like to build a positive legacy in my mams name as she is famous for helping others with her selfless attitude. So I would like to raise £1000 in my mams name to support others living with dementia. So to start off small this January, I'm walking 50 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support. I have set a target of £250 for January then after that I will open other opportunities to raise money!
Please support our journey so others can receive the love and support we did not and hopefully their journey through Dementia will not be as hard!
