I'm running 100K for Dementia UK
This February, I'm running 100K and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Dementia can be incredibly difficult to deal with not only for the sole person diagnosed, but also the family too. As dementia progresses, symptoms get significantly worse and to be able to deal with these situations can be incredibly stressful and difficult to handle. Families are in need of all the support that is available which is why i am doing the 100Km challenge.
On a personal note, my Grandmother has recently been diagnosed and been having the daily fight of living with dementia which is why the challenge caught my eye. 100Km is fuck all to what she faces everyday, as well as the immediate family who are there 24/7 but sadly, i know there will be a time when things are going to be too difficult to handle which is why i feel obligated to try something.
I also know a few close friends who have all been impacted by the effects of Dementia and if i can raise absolutely anything to make a difference to 1 persons life, then that is better than sitting on my arse doing fuck all because unfortunately, not all those who are diagnosed and fight it have family like ours, and often start the fight alone.
FUCK Demensia.
