We're walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK
We’re walking the equivalent of 30 miles each as a family to honour Shirley, our beloved mam, nana, and friend — and to support Dementia UK, whose specialist nurses bring comfort and guidance to families like ours every single day.
Caring for someone with dementia is a journey of love, patience, and resilience. It means celebrating small victories, finding laughter in unexpected moments, and facing heartbreak with courage. Every step we take represents the challenges we’ve overcome — the confusion, the exhaustion, the worry — and the deep bond that keeps us moving forward.
Through Shirley’s Memory Miles, we want to raise awareness and funds so that other families can receive the same compassionate support we’ve found. Dementia doesn’t just affect one person; it touches everyone around them. But together, we can make sure no one walks that path alone.
So we’ll lace up our shoes, share stories, and walk with hope — for Shirley, for every carer, and for every family living with dementia. Because every mile matters, and every memory deserves to be cherished.
