I’m Running 100K for Dementia UK This February

Sunday 1st Feb
This February, I’m taking on a personal challenge: running 100K to raise money for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity. I’m doing it for everyone affected by dementia, because it doesn’t just impact one person, it changes life for whole families. And with the right support, families don’t have to face that journey alone.

Why Dementia UK?

Dementia can be frightening, exhausting, and isolating for the person living with it and for the people who love them. Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who provide practical advice, clinical support, and emotional reassurance to families when they need it most. They help people navigate everything from distressed behaviour and communication changes to planning ahead and coping day-to-day.

That kind of expert, calm support can be the difference between feeling overwhelmed and feeling equipped.

What 100K Means to Me

Running 100K isn’t just about distance, it’s about commitment. There will be cold days, tired legs, and moments where it would be easier to stop. But I’ll keep going because dementia doesn’t take days off, and neither do the families living with it.

Every kilometre is my way of saying you’re not alone, and help should be there when it’s needed.

How Your Donation Helps

Your support, big or small, will make a real difference. For example, £33 could fund a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

That’s not just an hour of time. It’s an hour of guidance, reassurance, and relief at a moment when it can feel like there are no answers.

How You Can Support

Donate any amount you can:  https://fundraise.dementiauk.org/s/33741/34513

Send a message of encouragement, it genuinely helps on the tougher days

Thank You

Thank you for reading, for supporting, and for helping to make sure no family faces dementia alone. If you’re able to donate or share, you’re directly helping Dementia UK reach more people with specialist care, and that’s something to feel proud of.

Let’s turn 100K into real support for real families.
